Dragon's Egg, The

This delightful tale weaves reality and magic into one story. Ai Lien is a grade 5 student whose father gives her a stone from China for her birthday. He tells her it may be a dragon’s egg. But even though he believes in Chinese magic, when Ai Lien tells him the dragon has hatched, he does not believe her. Lung Wang, the dragon, becomes Ai Lien’s secret confidante, companion and friend. Together they learn about Canada and China, reality and magic, bullies and followers and friendship.
