Finding Forrester

Ellison, James W.
This story of a single mother’s struggles to raise her 2 sons in a disadvantaged neighbourhood is totally engaging. It provides a realistic portrayal of dreams and reality. The characters are strong, yet believably human, and have a strong sense of ethics.
Besides having a great film connection, the book is highly readable. It manages to pull students into the world of scholarly studies, academics, literature and the craft of writing almost without their knowing it.
