Fleshmarket

This historical novel is set in the darkly mysterious Edinburgh of the 19th century, where life is a struggle for the orphaned Robbie and his little sister, Essie. Robbie seeks revenge against the surgeon who brought about their mother's untimely death. The novel features 3 historical characters: Dr. Robert Knox, the morally volatile surgeon, as well as W. Burke and W. Hare, two convicted body snatchers who provide him with several illegally obtained cadavers.
