Forgotten Fire

Bagdasarian, Adam
This powerful story of genocide, ethnic prejudice and survival concerns an often-forgotten chapter of world history. Twelve-year-old Vahan is a privileged son of a wealthy Armenian family who live in Turkey. But it is 1915, and amid the chaos of World War I, the Turkish government embarks on a campaign to exterminate the Christian Armenians. Some of Vahan’s family members are arrested and never seen again. Others are murdered before his eyes.
