Frankenstein

Shelley, Mary
Frankenstein is a classic novel that considers mankind’s ability to create and destroy. The book is a metaphor for the consequences of the Industrial Revolution and the ongoing struggle of mankind versus nature. The story is as relevant today as it was in the early 19th century. Dr. Frankenstein, using European scientific discoveries and hypotheses, creates a being. The being, which is seen as a monster, is far more powerful, destructive, and needy than Frankenstein had intended.
