Freaky Green Eyes

The plot revolves around an abusive father and husband who is also a well-loved celebrity. When the protagonist’s mother eventually leaves the home – and then goes suspiciously missing – the young girl struggles with repressed and misdirected anger, blaming her mother for their plight. At the end, she comes to realize the truth, both in terms of what happened, and in terms of who she wants to be. There is ample opportunity for rich discussion, with a particular focus on character development.
