Lambs of Hell's Gate

Bright, Mary Liz
This historical novel is based on the building of the Canadian Pacific Railway along the Fraser River in 1882. It tells the story of two young Chinese siblings who come to Canada to find a future, but instead find hardship and racial cruelty. They are caught in an impossible situation of abuse and entrapment with no possible solution. To complicate matters, their family’s honour is at stake. The friendship of supporting characters enables them to regain both their freedom and family honour.
