Mixing It

Hayes, Rosemary
Fatimah is a devout Muslim. Steve is a regular young man who has never given much thought to faith. Fatimah and Steve happen to be walking in the same street in Britain when a terrorist bomb explodes. Steve is critically injured and when the emergency services arrive, Fatimah is cradling his head in her lap, talking to him, keeping him alive. However, the Press is there too. The next day, their picture appears in every newspaper. “Love across the divide,” shout the headlines, “Romeo and Juliet.”
