Moses, Me & Murder

Walsh, Ann
This historical novel is based on a true story and on real characters in Canadian history. It takes place in Barkerville in 1858 during the BC Gold Rush. A young boy, Ted, discovers clues related to a mysterious death.
One gets a true sense of life during the Gold Rush days, a time when life was difficult and the law was more severe than it is today. If the cover and illustrations were updated, the book might have greater shelf appeal.
