Mouse Woman and the Muddleheads
This collection presented by Christie Harris contains seven legends of the Haida people. These legends feature the very clever Mouse Woman. She is a “narnauk”, a being who is capable of shifting her form from that of animal (mouse) to human (grandmother). As she sees things, it’s her task to keep everyone in line. Those who can’t see things her way get classed as Muddleheads. This book is an effective asset in teaching First Nations legends, history, worldviews, and values.
