Mud Girl

Acheson, Alison
Mud Girl explores many issues contemporary teenagers face. Abi is a girl on the cusp of seventeen who lives with her increasingly distant father on the banks of the Fraser River in B.C. She has been abandoned by her mother who has left for reasons Abi will ponder in flashback throughout her story. She also experiences the trials of a relationship, caring unexpectedly for a child not her own but for whom she cares a great deal, and coping with life-threatening diseases and conditions.
