This intensely emotional story depicts the issues of family dysfunction, the realities of war and identity crisis. Set on a Midwestern farm in the 1960's, two brothers and their mother struggle against the tirades and instability of an abusive alcoholic father. After the eldest is declared missing in action in Vietnam, the youngest becomes the parent to his mother, who is slowly losing her mind. As he enters adulthood, he battles his own demons, but fortunately finds peace by the end.
