Be Who You Are

Parr, T.
This easy-to-read, brightly coloured picture book is a powerful reminder to students that it is okay to be who we are. Through many supporting examples of different characters being who they are the author encourages students to do the same and emphasizes that although we may be different in looks and feelings and living circumstances, it’s great to be unique and proud of who we are. A useful read-aloud in primary grades to launch conversations about diversity, identity, self, acceptance, and individuality, and to explore the variety of interests and family situations students may have.
