Teens 101: Educational Mental Health Series

This Canadian video series can help teens understand and deal with issues they or their friends may face. Each video addresses one issue or topic and presents a 10-minute story of an individual who faced that issue and was able to turn his or her life around. The inspirational stories are accompanied by an introduction, group discussion, comments from a health professional, and a closing that summarizes the information and provides further resources, including hotlines for assistance. Links are provided on the website to crisis centres for each province and resources for educators. Videos can easily be chunked into sections so teachers can select the segments that will work in their classrooms.
