POE: Stories and Poems

This graphic novel adaptation of seven of the most well-known Edgar Allen Poe stories and poems is presented with vivid illustrations and condensed text. Each terrifying tale uses imagery and language to convey the mood and the illustrations provide students with a greater understanding of the Poe’s works and support comprehension of the complex language, which is especially useful for reluctant readers. Themes in each piece are identified and there is an extended commentary about each of the works. Suitable for literature circles, small groups, or independent project work for grades 8-12.
