American Born Chinese

Yang, Gene Luen
This graphic novel deals extensively with issues of racism and identity. Jin Wang, an American born Chinese boy, wants to fit in, and so wishes away his cultural heritage. His Chinese cousin, deliberately portrayed in a traditional racist representation, forces the protagonist to re-examine his rejection of Chinese culture.
