Be Kind

Zietlow Miller, P.
What does it mean to be kind? A young student embarks on a kindness journey after wanting to help a classmate, soon learning that small acts of kindness can inspire larger acts of kindness, which can make a difference in the world. A simple story with appealing illustrations, “Be Kind” explores what it means to be kind to friends, to family, and to others in the community and how being kind requires creativity, thoughtfulness, and a desire to make a difference. Students in Grade K–5 may be inspired to demonstrate random acts of kindness or participate in projects that encourage a positive school culture. In the classroom, the story may be used to explore social justice projects in the community.
