Plan for Pops, A

Smith, H.
Lou visits his Grandad and Pops every Saturday, and together, they have a great time. But one day, Pops has a fall and needs a wheelchair, and Lou starts to work on a plan to get Pops moving around again. A colourful and engaging picture book that emphasizes the joy of spending time with a grandparent, “A Plan for Pops” also touches on themes of intergenerational and LGBTQ relationships, as well as of compassion and loving people just the way they are. In a K–4 classroom, this story may encourage discussions around identity, relationships, mental health, and empathy, while also lending itself to journal-writing opportunities and art projects.
