Ladybird's Remarkable Relaxation: How children (and frogs, dogs, flamingos and dragons) can use yoga relaxation to help deal with stress, grief, bullying and lack of confidence

Chissick, M.
This picture book and resource focuses on the problems and stressors that a frog, flamingo, dog, and dragon face. A ladybug introduces the animals to a relaxation technique that can help them overcome their issues and improve their problem-solving. The stressors that the animals face are those that young students might also encounter, such as feeling overwhelmed by work, social exclusion, name-calling, writer's block, and death of a grandparent. The resource includes a teacher’s guide, the story, a section on how to teach the story, and a relaxation script. Suited to K-5 classes for teacher-led whole class reading and discussion and to help children develop a relaxation response.
