Frontline Heroes

“Frontline heroes” is part of a six-book set; this resource focuses primarily on the roles of frontline health care and service workers in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Images and visual elements, together with quotes and pertinent statistics, graphs, and facts are presented in an accessible format, engaging students to think critically and reflect on the information within. Suitable for students in Grade K–9, this reference book’s passages, graphs, photographs, or individual chapters could be used in the classroom to invite discussions and personal reflections. These elements can also be used to teach features of informational texts, summarization, and also to dive into activities that require higher-order thinking or that inspire further exploration of the topic.
