In response to the COVID-19 pandemic and in recognition of the various feelings that children may be experiencing resulting from it, this informational resource simplifies complex emotions through relatable situations and colourful illustrations that validate and normalize children’s feelings. Practical coping strategies are also offered in an easy-to-understand language for primary-level students. In the classroom, the resource is suitable as a class read-aloud, or teachers may choose to use it to explore different strategies for dealing with difficult emotions. Additionally, teachers may choose to use the writing prompts suggested to encourage class discussions or introduce writing opportunities.
