Chemical World: Science in Our Daily Lives

Rowena, R.
Chemicals are all around us, playing a role in our everyday lives; and some of them can bring about unintended negative consequences on our health and environment. Age-appropriate for a Grade 2–7 audience, the author explores topics that develop historical understanding and highlight opportunities for possible actions to reduce the negative impacts of chemicals. In the classroom, the resource lends itself well as a class read-aloud, for independent reading or research purposes. The book may inspire whole-group or literature circle discussions about chemicals in our day-to-day lives and how to reduce the use of those that are harmful.
