Hunted By the Sky

Gul, born as a magi and with a star birthmark that may fulfill a prophecy that she will cause the downfall of the king, witnesses the murder of her family by the king’s warriors as her family tries to hide her. Gul vows revenge on the king and with the help of a group of warrior women she perfects her magic and sets out on her journey of revenge, making many allies as well as enemies. This fantasy novel, for grades 10-12, deals with issues of grief, loss, power and the manipulation of power, and spiritualism, and can be used for a reading circle or to spark research on myths, legends, culture, or diverse religious ideas.
