Brother's Keeper

Twelve-year-old Sora and her family are a traditional family living in North Korea, but when war breaks out the family seeks safety in South Korea. En route, Sora and her younger brother are separated from the family and must travel alone, facing many perils on the journey. This engaging novel, based upon the experiences of the author’s family, explores the impacts of war as well as the gender and age roles Sora faces but opposes.
