Woman in Berlin, A

Woman in Berlin, A

Anonymous
The diary of a citizen of Berlin during the months of April through June of 1945, the woman who wrote this account of the final days of the Hitler regime did so anonymously. This is understandable, given the atrocities she experienced and witnessed as the soldiers of the USSR overran the city, but especially because she predicted or recognized the evident reluctance of her readers to acknowledge the mass rape of the female population of the city at the time of writing.
