This historical fiction novel is set in 1597, in the London of Shakespeare's time. After his mother’s death 15 year old Richard arrives in London on a quest to seek his missing father, who abandoned the family long ago. He is drawn into the theatre because of his strong voice and good memory. A chance reference to a mysterious stranger puts him the middle of a plot involving religion and politics, as he tries to find his missing father.
