John's parents have buried his ashes, but his sister Hayley, and Annie, his finance, are compelled to travel to Siberia to see for themselves the demolition site where he died. Hayley sees John in a train window. But John is dead; dental records were used to identify his body. At the same time a tormented and injured man with no memory relies on the kindness of strangers to protect him and nurse him back to health.
