We Are Not Yet Equal: Understanding Our Racial Divide

We Are Not Yet Equal: Understanding Our Racial Divide

Anderson, C.; Bolden, T.
A young adult adaptation of Carol Anderson’s “White Rage,” this book reveals important truths about the history of racism in the United States, highlighting important moments in history and detailing the laws and policies that were put in place to deny Black Americans any rights. A resource created for teenagers and appropriate for Grade 10–12 students, its articles and supporting discussion questions promote critical thinking and ways to extend research by providing in-depth and detailed information and historical images that inform readers about complex topics such as police violence, racist laws and policies, and systemic discrimination. In the classroom, teachers may choose sections to read aloud and discuss with students or assign selections to groups for further study.
