Sq’éwlets: A Stó:lō-Coast Salish Community in the Fraser River Valley

A website designed by the Sq’ewlets community, this virtual museum is a place where the Sq’ewlets Peoples share their origin stories, oral history, and culture. Students have the opportunity to access extensive information about the community and comprehensive lessons as well as teaching activities. Suitable for students in Grade 3–8, the resource lends itself well for use with the whole class, in small groups, or for independent study. Teachers may use the website in their classrooms to introduce First Peoples Perspectives or to springboard a unit about Indigenous cultures that allow students to use the resource to research and compare various First Peoples communities around British Columbia.
