Wednesday, October 27th    2:30 - 3:30   Gale 'InContext' Suite (Canada, Global Issues, Science) Gr. 8 - 12

These three databases work well to support the BC curriculum at the grade 8-12 level.  We will investigate tips, tricks, Lexile reading level search functions and the “on demand” text and voice translations with the intention of supporting diverse learners in the classroom.  If you need online resources for the secondary level these three databases provide support most curricular areas in grade 8-12.

Wednesday, October 27th    2:30 - 3:30   TigTag & TigTagJr in the Elementary Classroom    K - Gr.5

This session will present ways to use the TigTag Jr. (K-2) and Tig Tag (2-5) resources to meet your classroom curriculum, including inquiry, CBL and traditional research.

Thursday, October 28th     3:30 - 4:30   Twig for the Classroom    Gr. 6 - 9

Twig is tailor-made for teachers in Grades 6-9. The Twig website provides school-wide access to thousands of three-minute films for Science, Math and Geography, as well as worksheets, lesson plans, quizzes and diagrams. Twig resources are easy to use.  This session will provide an overview of the resources available in TWIG and examples as to how teachers would be able to use it in the classroom/online.

A look at the complete World Book Suite and how the products integrate with BC Curriculum and can be used in a variety of ways -  including inquiry, CBL and traditional research.
