Goals and Rationale

Kings II was written by the prophet Jeremiah who accompanied the Jewish People into Exile at the end of the 400 years described within this text. The reason he was the prophet chosen to write this book that spans such a long period of time, even though he only lived at the end, is because Kings II is not meant to be just a history book, but rather a memento of what life was like during the Temple Era.

Big Ideas
