The purpose of this course is to develop the communication, organization, and planning skills associated with being a leader in the school community. Students will use their leadership skills to develop and promote a positive school culture. Student will develop responsibility, self-esteem, initiative, and creativity throughout this course.

Goals and Rationale

Develop an awareness of different leadership styles. Develop and apply different leadership characteristics. Participate in and lead students in different school community building events. Develop positive relationships both within their class and in the school community. Contribute to a positive school climate. Develop an awareness of the positive aspects of mentorship while being mentored by a peer.

Additional Information

Grade 10 students will work under the guidance and direction of Grade 11 and 12 Student Leadership students while helping to run different school-based events.
