Textiles Art and Design 12 provides opportunities for students to expand on the skills acquired in Textiles Art and Design 11, by designing and creating advanced projects using various textiles art methods and techniques. Students will practice the design process, how to safely use and care for the facilities, tools and equipment, while learning the processes, procedures and the historical and cultural aspects of textile art.

Goals and Rationale

Since the dawn of civilization, people have used textiles as an important medium for human expression. Textiles Art and Design 12 has been developed to support and encourage students to explore the richness and diversity of various methods of textile art and design from the traditional to the contemporary. Textiles Art and Design provides firm foundations for lifelong learning and, for some, specialized study & a diverse range of careers. It develops citizens who are informed creators/consumers.
