Successful travel requires the acquisition and development of functional regional vocabulary and a basic understanding of local customs; therefore, during this multi-disciplinary course, students will examine various dialects that may be used across French or Spanish speaking regions of the world and provide them with tools for functioning in the communities they may travel to one day.

Goals and Rationale

This course is designed to develop informed and respectful travelers who will be able to explore the global community as effective, adaptable, and self-aware representatives of their local community. This is an inquiry based course wherein students develop skills associated with languages, social studies, the arts, and math. Touring la francophonie/el mundo hispanohablante 11 is closely tied to the core competencies of communication, personal awareness, and responsibility.
