10 Hidden Heroes

This is a colourful, engaging, seek-and-find picture book that highlights the work of everyday heroes in their daily lives. It will encourage students to reflect on the many ways people can show kindness and compassion, also emphasizing the importance of helping and caring for others. A book that allows students to consider the complexity of the human condition, its simple, rhyming text will engage students and allow them to identify ways they can help others. In a primary classroom, the resource lends itself well during buddy reading or as a morning-meeting activity where students can seek the hidden heroes. Students may be encouraged to participate in an inquiry project where questions regarding community services could be further explored.
