Tasha, the most popular girl at school, is found freezing in a river and presumed dead for 13 minutes but she awakens, with amnesia. As her memory returns it appears that her best friends were involved in the accident and she enlists Becca’s help to solve the mystery and as Becca discovers the truth she learns that not everyone is what they seem and she undertakes her own journey of self-discovery. This engaging coming-of-age novel deals with timely and relatable topics, including self-discovery, self-reflection, honesty, personal and social identity, gender roles, violence, loyalty, mental health, personal worth, and relationships with friends, which can launch interesting class discussions.
