Sicily Bridges is a little girl with a huge imagination and a knack for invention. Her creativity and thoughtfulness allow her to create things from everyday objects, making things for others using objects she finds in her home. But one day, she also ends up making a friend when she least expected it, showing readers that even when a plan fails, something good may come of it. Suitable in an elementary-level classroom, this picture book may be used to inspire ADST projects by following Sicily’s example of making something for a particular person or by using everyday materials. In addition, the book’s illustrations can serve as an example of how text and images work together to tell a story.
