90 Days of Different

When eighteen-year-old Sophie’s boyfriend breaks up with her as he thinks that she is too boring and predictable, her best friend Ella plans ninety different activities—one each day for ninety days—for Sophie that are out of her comfort zone, with the goal to help Sophie become less rule-following and to explore her own identity. As Sophie tries each one, Ella has Sophie blog, tweet, and post about her experiences. This Canadian novel for grades 8-12 explores issues of stereotyping, social media, and how life events shape one’s identity, and is suitable as an independent or literature circle novel choice.
