Ada Twist, Scientist
Young Ada Twist gets into all sorts of mischief as she tries to find out where that smell is coming from! The young scientist exemplifies the scientific process by writing her ideas, performing experiments, and persevering in her inquiry and investigations. Colourful images and rhyming text may prompt creative and critical thinking as elementary-level students can use clues to guess the source of the stink. In the classroom, teachers may use the picture book to introduce the scientific method and encourage students to ask questions and observe the world around them. Students may also be inspired to explore influential women in history, and teachers may extend the story into ADST and inquiry projects.
