Al Capone Does My Shirt

This novel draws upon historical details from the 1930s, when a community of employees' families lived on Alcatraz, segregated from but in close proximity to the inmates. When 12-year-old Moose moves with his family to Alcatraz because of his father's job, it is 1935 and Al Capone and other infamous gangsters are in residence.
