Written by a Canadian author, this novel explores cross-generational relationships formed through a shared love of literature. It is a short, simply written story which engages the reader on an emotional level. Alma and her mother are struggling to make ends meet, so Alma accepts a job as transcriber for an elderly woman and discovers a mutual love of writing and reading. Alma soon learns that her favourite author is closer than she realized.
