As Hitler begins his invasion of Europe Jewish people are forced to either flee or hide. This book is a diary kept by a thirteen year-old girl for two years while her family is in hiding on the upper floors of a house in Amsterdam. There are occasional atrocities mentioned in the diary although none are experienced or described by the narrator.
