Autoboyography

Eighteen-year-old Tanner is open about his bisexuality until his family moves to a conservative, religious town where he feels he can’t express himself openly. When Tanner meets Sebastian, the Mormon Bishop’s son, the two develop a relationship but if Sebastian’s family discovers the truth he may be excommunicated, rejected, or faced to undergo conversion therapy. Tanner chronicles their relationship and the difficult decisions and sacrifices they face in a novel he is writing for school. This novel, for grades 10-12, is suitable for a high school library and as a literature circle or book club novel with teacher assistance to deal with sensitive topics. Social considerations noted.
