Bad Seed, The

John, J.
A sunflower seed with a scowl is convinced he is bad because of all the negative things that have been told to him. He lists the various bad things he has done and unfortunate events he has experienced, and in the end he is able to change his attitude and become more positive about himself and his outlook on life. A good read-aloud to launch discussions of self-talk, positive attitudes, the power to change, friendship, empathy, acceptance, and kindness. The expressive and amusing illustrations will engage readers and help them recognize the emotions and attitudes the little seed experiences.
