Basketball Poster

Jespersen, M.
This 24” x 36” colourful laminated poster depicts a basketball court and player positions, along with a brief description of the duties of each position, a game overview, scoring rules, and quick facts about the game. Designed to foster a better understanding of basketball and its rules, the resource is suited to secondary PE classes. The evaluators rated the resource as moderately engaging, and moderately addressing the goals and objectives of the curriculum. Teachers could use the poster to demonstrate the positions, court markings, and scoring in basketball.
Some information on the poster is more applicable for the American school system and may not be accurate in Canada, for example, the duration of basketball game. The font size is small, making it difficult to use in a large group setting. The poster does not provide progressions, game strategies, skill instruction, or assessment ideas. Companion materials are not provided for this resource.
