BC Historical Newspapers

This digital archive of BC historical newspapers (1865-1994) is intended for historical research. Suitable for grade 9-12 social studies classes, the archive provides opportunities for students to think like historians and analyze primary sources for context, point of view, and bias, for meaningful inquiry, and for critical and creative thinking. The newspapers provide unvarnished insights into the attitudes of various time periods in BC’s history. Specific newspapers are found by scrolling through an index or clicking an icon on a map of BC, and full-text transcripts are available for each article.
