Bella Coola Man

Thommasen, Harvey
This is a series of short stories collected as an autobiographical remembrance of Clayton Mack, a First Nation's Bella Coola elder who lived from 1910 to 1993. Written as a spoken narrative, the compiler/editor has collected in interviews Clayton Mack's memories of his life and experiences; the purpose was to relate truthful stories and to acknowledge the source of them. The stories recount Mack's life in Bella Coola as part of the Nuxalk tribe and in the Cariboo country as a hunter and guide.
