Big Foot and Little Foot

Potter, E.
Hugo, a young Sasquatch, lives in a Sasquatch community that is apart from the scary human world, but Hugo yearns for an adventure in the bigger world. While on a school activity he accidentally comes face-to-face with Boone, a human boy, and that sparks a greater interest in the other world, so he makes a wish on a toy boat, sends it downstream, and when it comes back with a surprise, it is the start of a friendship between Hugo and Boone. This humorous and engaging early chapter book is a suitable read-aloud for grades 2-3 and deals with themes of friendship, valuing diversity, feeling alone, being different, and finding one's place in the world.
