Twins Ziva and Pesah have dealt with Pesah’s leprosy over the years but when his condition worsens and he is to be sent to a colony, the twins decide to run away to a place where death can’t visit and find a cure or salvation for Pesah. On their adventure to save Pesah, they encounter many dangerous situations and are in a race against time. This historical fantasy fiction novel introduces students to ancient Jewish culture and mythology and is suitable for novel study, literature circles, or individual silent reading, to facilitate critical and creative thinking, and to launch discussion of relationships and how they change over time, unconditional love, life and death, and cultural representation.
