Boy at the Top of the Mountain, The

Boyne, J.
Pierrot is orphaned at 7 and adopted his Aunt Beatrix, Adolf Hitler's housekeeper. When at home Hitler exerts an influence over Pierrot who becomes arrogant and has a hunger for belonging and power that leads him to harsh actions, such as ending a long friendship with a boy because he is Jewish, and disclosing his Aunt Beatrix and her chauffeur’s participation in a plan to execute Hitler which results in their murder. This historical novel prompts critical thinking and discussion of personal and social responsibility.
